Terms of Service
Last updated: October 1, 2026
These terms apply when you use the CROSSTIA web app at app.crosstia.com and the website at crosstia.com (together, "CROSSTIA"). CROSSTIA is run by the CROSSTIA team ("we", "us"). By using CROSSTIA you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. The beta
CROSSTIA is currently in free public beta. Features may change, be added or be removed, and there may be bugs. We provide the beta free of charge and without any guarantee that it will be available at any particular time.
2. Your patterns and your work
Everything you create in CROSSTIA belongs to you. That includes your patterns, charts, PDFs and exported files. We claim no ownership of it, and you're free to use, share or sell what you make, including selling patterns commercially.
CROSSTIA runs in your browser. Your projects are stored on your device, in your browser's storage. If you sign in, the projects you work on are also saved to your account, but that copy is a convenience, not a backup guarantee, so you are responsible for keeping backups. Clearing your browser data, using a private window, or switching browsers or devices can remove or hide your work. Use Save Project to keep a copy of each project as a file.
3. Images and content you use
When you import a photo or artwork, you confirm that you have the right to use it. Don't use CROSSTIA to make patterns from images that infringe someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights. You're responsible for the content you create and share.
4. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- break the law using CROSSTIA, or use it to harm others;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to CROSSTIA or its infrastructure;
- copy, resell, redistribute or create a competing service from the CROSSTIA software itself, or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows you to.
5. Our software
The CROSSTIA software, name, logo and website are owned by us and protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use CROSSTIA under these terms. Third-party components are used under their own licenses, listed in the app under Licensing / Terms.
Thread brand names such as DMC and Anchor are trademarks of their respective owners. CROSSTIA is not affiliated with or endorsed by them; the names are used only to identify matching thread colors.
6. Accounts
You don't need an account to use CROSSTIA. A free account saves your projects to your account so you can open them on any device, and is needed for paid plans. Keep access to the email address or Google account you sign in with, since that is how you prove the account is yours. One account is for one person. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
7. Paid plans
CROSSTIA is free during the beta. After the beta, the Free plan stays free, and paid plans add features such as the full PDF pattern and OXS and SVG export. The current plans, prices and what each includes are on our Pricing page and are shown again at checkout before you pay. A plan that is marked "in development" can't be bought until it's available.
Paid plans are subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly in advance, and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Manage billing in the app; you keep the plan until the end of the period you've paid for. Launch prices apply to subscriptions started during the launch period. If we change the price of your plan, we'll tell you before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
8. Disclaimer
CROSSTIA is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Screen and printed colors vary, so always check thread colors against real floss before you start stitching.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or work, arising from your use of CROSSTIA. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
10. Ending use
You can stop using CROSSTIA at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Files you've saved to your own device stay yours, and so do patterns you've already made, whatever happens to a paid plan.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as CROSSTIA develops. We'll change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll give notice on this site or in the app. Continuing to use CROSSTIA after a change means you accept the updated terms.
