Photo to cross-stitch pattern

How it works

Every stitch takes the true average colour of its part of the photo, and each colour is matched to a real DMC or Anchor thread, so the pattern stays close to your picture. A transparent or plain background is left as fabric, single stray stitches are cleaned up, and you can add half stitches on the edges and a backstitch outline.

Everything happens in your browser: your photo is never uploaded.

Is the converter free?

Which photos work best?

Clear pictures with simple shapes: pets, flowers, logos and cartoons. A picture with a transparent background gives the cleanest edges.

How do I get the PDF pattern?

Press Import Pattern. Your pattern opens in CROSSTIA, where you can change any stitch and export the PDF with the chart, the thread key and the finished size.
